Quick Facts

Fir Timbers

Douglas Fir is often used as a structural lumber. It is a tight knotted and close-grained general purpose wood for framing lumber in residential, light commercial, multi story and industrial construction.

Pine

Finish your interior space with natural pine Tongue and Groove or some classic pine Shiplap boards. For exteriors,  pine Log cabin siding can add a truly unique finish, complementing a Farm House, Cottage or Rustic Cabin look and feel.

Fencing Materials & Gate Hardware

Cedar wood is extremely durable, and stands up amazingly well in a wide range of climatic conditions, which means your cedar fence will outlast most other woods, such as spruce, pine, fir or treated wood. Straight grain and natural oils within cedar wood ensure long term dimensional stability and deter structural damage or rot from heat or water.

Deck Materials

Western Red Cedar looks after itself; resists moisture decay, stays straight and maintains surface integrity for many years. It also provides a deck surface that remains comfortable to bare feet on a hot day; yet, doesn’t feel chilled on cool nights.

Deck Railings

A good railing design can enhance your deck, provide safety, be used to incorporate protection from prevailing wind and sun and is often used to add a level of privacy to your outdoor living space.

Tongue & Groove

Western Red Cedar tongue and groove planks are widely used for their good looks and versatility. Often featured in soffits, ceilings and feature walls. It can be installed horizontally, vertically or diagonally, each method giving a distinctly different look. Tongue and groove boards typically come with a smooth surface. Nominal sizes are 4″ or 6″ in width and favour a “v-joint” profile. Other profile variants are flush joint & fine-line (less common).

Sidings & Trim

Cedar is the perfect partner for stone, slate, brick, and other natural building materials. No other building material reflects such a true embodiment of the natural environment. For structures in which the strength, stability and the appearance of exposed wood elements are important, cedar offers long term durability and performance.

Roofing & Accessories

In today’s era of machine-made synthetics, cedar’s natural warmth and visually satisfying richness are a timeless quality that continues to make Western Red Cedar shingles and shakes popular with discriminating architects, builders and homeowners.

Saunas & Accessories

Saunas have been used for thousands of years and are still popular today. A sauna can help people to unwind and relax, and has other health benefits.

Sweating has long been used as a therapy. In Finland, saunas have been used for thousands of years, 1 in 3 Finns use them. In the United States (U.S.), there are thought to be over a million saunas.

Main benefits of saunas are for relaxation and cardiovascular health.

Cypress, Cupressus nootkatensis

Cypress (yellow cedar) has exceptional longevity.  Due to it’s slow growth, it is hard and like other cypress woods, it is durable.  It therefore offers good dimensional stability, and is resistant to weather, insects and contact with soil.  Typical uses include flooring & bridge decking because of its strength, hardness and wearing properties. Other uses include siding, shingles and exposed beams.
